Kurt Van Veldhuizen D.C. CCSP RKC TPI SFG

Dr. Kurt van veldhuizen was born in sheldon, iowa. He lived in northwest iowa until he graduated from hartley-melvin-sanborn high in the spring of 2001. In high school he enjoyed playing football, running in track, and participating in the art program. Upon graduation he moved to cedar falls, iowa, where he studied biology (pre-medical major) and religion/philosophy as a minor, he graduated from the university of northern iowa in the winter of 2005 with a b.A. In science. After completion of his undergraduate degree he enrolled in the doctorate of chiropractic program at palmer college of chiropractic, davenport, iowa. At palmer he studied the medical sciences, the chiropractic arts, and specialized as an intern in the palmer rehabilitation clinic in addition to serving in the palmer health clinic as an intern and assistant to the clinics director of operations and finance. Dr. Kurt graduated from palmer with honors in june of 2009. He is currently practicing in johnston, iowa with his partners dr. Aaron rector and gary bowman. Their clinic, active wellness chiropractic and rehabilitation is located on windsor parkway one block west of 86th st.

Dr. Kurt's post graduate work has included, becoming a certified practioner of both the graston technique of instrument assisted soft tissue release and the active release technique, both of which are considered to be gold standard techniques for muscle manipulation and myofascial release. In addition dr. Van veldhuizen has become a board certified chiropractic sports physician and is currently studying to attain his certified strength and conditioning specialist, as well as, has achieved his russian kettlebell certification, strong first certification, selective functional movement assessment certification, titleist performance institute certification and is working towards his certified kettlebell functional movement screen certification(ck-fms). Later in the year he will graduate with masters degree in sports medicine and rehabilitation with an emphasis on clinical nutrition and human performance. Work with pediatrics and neurology has included multiple course work though the prague school of rehabilitation for dynamic neuromuscular stabilization and training under one of america's only trained and certified vojta therapists in reflex locomotion. Dr. Van veldhuzien has also studied with dr. Dale buchberger on his shoulder made simple protocols utilizing the renowned buchberger 12 series of exercises and diagnosis. Lastly dr. Kurt has been trained as a mckenzie mechanical diagnosis and therapy provider and is studying to attain his certified mdt status later in the year.

Malea Jensen

Malea Jensen, D.O.

Dr. Malea Jensen has over 15 years’ experience as a family medicine physician. She received her medical degree from the University of Osteopathic Medicine in Des Moines, Iowa, and completed a family medicine residency at Iowa Lutheran Hospital, a Des Moines-based affiliate of the University of Iowa School of Medicine.

Dr. Jensen has a large following of young families but cares for all ages of patients with all disease states. She is well versed in athletic injuries having been an athlete all her life. She is also a huge proponent of preventative medicine. She counsels her patients on weight loss, nutrition, and exercise.

Dr. Jensen recently opened her own practice named, Center Stage Primary Care, located at 1455 29th Street, West Des Moines, Iowa. Dr. Jensen is excited to help you take your health “Center Stage.”
