CEO and Founder Paul Bird has been apart of combat sports as a competitor and an event promoter for over a decade. Starting in Tae Kwon Do as a child and later training under Cardell James as a amateur boxer, Paul soon was traveling to Thailand in mid 2005 to train and fight in the Main Event at Patong Stadium in Phuket, Thailand. Upon his return he began a career in professional mixed martial arts which spanned from 2006 to 2013. He made the cast of The Ultimate Fighter USA vs. UK but lost his preliminary fight to get him in the house. During his career he had many highlights defeating top level talent in the Midwest. Paul has been the main event attraction on fight cards all over Iowa, Thailand, and The Joint at the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas. Paul has competed as an amateur boxer, amateur kick boxer, professional Muay Thai, and professional mixed martial artist. Currently he is retired but still trains mixed martial arts and Brazilian jiu jitsu.
In 2010 Paul founded World War Fighting Championships a MMA fight promotion, which has found great success in the Des Moines Iowa area. He with his partner UFC veteran Josh “The Dentist” Neer are always looking for new talent and look forward to using their promotion as a springboard for upcoming prospect fighters to get them a contract with a large organization like the UFC, Bellator, WSOF etc.
With the wealth of knowledge Paul has learned from the years of training, competing, coaching, and being around promoters he has a better understanding of how a fighters mind works and can fully relate. He has the connections and contacts with all the top promotions in MMA and professional boxing and is ready to help take your career to the next level.
